Overview

Rotacaddy is a revolutionary new golfing accessary – aiming to create a full caddy experience for the user through the integration of the patented automated retrievel golf bag and leading course tracking apps.

The end result is a golf bag that not only recommends clubs depending on where you are on the course but will hand them to you and learn from your performance, altering its club recommendations based on how you faired last time round.

Features

Rotacaddy is a premium golf bag with a twist – it tells you which club will work best to take your shot and even hands you the club

The Rotacaddy project is the development of two components: an electronic, high capacity premium golf bag and an accompanying application for shot and performance tracking.

Philosophy and Guiding Principles

There are two ways find success in the high-end golfing accessories market: either make an existing product better or create a new product all together. Rotacaddy seeks to do both.

It is important to remember that the key to the adoption of any new product into everyday golf is to avoid gimicks, add value to the golfer’s experiance and to not seek to replace an existing aspect of the game.

Many products have tried to chop, change and ‘revamp’ golf. We’ve seen a thousand times before that this can not happen and these gimicky products fail. People play golf because they like golf (at least when they’ve had a good round…), so why change it?

What we seek to accomplish here is to create a premium golf bag that offers great storage, reliability, keeps clubs dry/ ready and goes great with the automatic trolleys currently on the market. With that as a starting point we’ve also added the ability for the bag to recommend and present clubs to the golfer based on previous performance, tying in with ever-more-popular round and course tracking apps; giving the golfer a personal caddy that after a few rounds knows their game better than they do.

That said: if you hate being told what to do (in which case this might not be for you) you can use the bags controller to prepare the club of your choosing for the shot. In these circumstances there is still the added benefit of a club that has been kept dry under a cover, without you having to fiddle with the bag.

The Rotacaddy project aims to create the perfect partner to your round of golf without letting our additional features get in the way of what is, at its core, a stylish and functional cart-style golf bag.

Patents

Rotacaddy has undergone extensive design work and has been granted several patents (covering the UK, China, Japan, Korea, the USA and the EU)

The patents cover the bag and mechanical components key to the delivery of the bag/app’s chosen club. This is the key component to the marketability and commericial oppurtunity that potential future competitors would not be able to copy if looking to create a similar product and service

Development and Next Steps

Originally conceived by Jim Pitman in 2009; Rotacaddy has been in active development since 2015.

Over the past three years the bag component of the overall Rotacaddy package has undergone a rigorous engineering and testing phase to create a realiable and mechanically sound starting point for integration with leading, and experimental proprietary, course and round tracking apps/ software.

The next phase of the Rotacaddy project is to:

+ Work with our developers to advance our proprietary stand-alone app for course tracking

+ Creation of an application extension to be compatible the leading course tracking software

+ User testing of these applications

The Rotacaddy project is looking for investors and partners with a background in product development and international sales interested in taking on commercial and distribution duties for Rotacaddy Limited.

This is a good oppurtunity for those with experience to pick up on a product for which 90% of research and development costs have already been accrued. If interested please contact the team via the contact page (link in menu at the top of the page)
